Meet Our Doctors

All Pacific IVF physicians are Fellows of the American Fertility Society (AFC), the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART) and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG).

Thomas S. Kosasa, M.D.
Dr. Kosasa is a professor and chief of reproductive endocrinology at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in architecture and earned his medical degree at the McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at Brigham and Women's Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Kosasa is a consultant for Maternal and Reproductive Health for the Food and Drug Administration.

Philip I. McNamee, M.D.
Dr. McNamee is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine, with 37 years of infertility experience including microsurgery, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, laser surgery, ultrasound and pelviscopy. He is a graduate of the Stanford University School of Medicine. In addition to AFC, SART and ACOG, Dr. McNamee is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Board of OB-GYN. He has servee on the board of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, where he has previously served as vice-president and president. His writings are widely published and he is a respected lecturer at national and international conferences on reproductive medicine.

Carl Morton, M.D.
Dr. Morton is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine and past Chief of Staff at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. He is a graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Wm. Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. He is a member of the American Board of OB-GYN and a member of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Ethics Committee. Dr. Morton is also a Commissioner with the Hawaii State Ethics Commission and a Consultant for the Hawaii Department of Regulatory Agencies.

Thomas Huang, Ph.D., HCLD, ELD
Laboratory Director, In Vitro Fertilization and Andrology Laboratories
Dr. Huang is an Associate Professor at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. Dr. Huang has served on the Board of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology and was Secretary on the Board of Directors
of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and American Association of Andrology. He is a respected lecturer and teacher nationally on in vitro fertilization and embryo development.

Bruce Kessel, M.D.
Dr. Kessel is an Associate Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health, of the University of Hawaii John A Burns School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Oberlin College and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and his Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California, San Diego. Prior to joining the University of Hawaii, Dr. Kessel held faculty appointments at University of California San Diego, University of Cincinnati and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Kessel is Board certified in both OB-GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He has published over 100 scientific articles, chapters, books and abstracts.
